Senior Data Engineer 

 Toronto, Ontario

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who will be responsible for designing and developing our database system, data models and schemas, as well as building data pipelines assembling large, complex data sets for analytical purposes.

In this role, you will…   

  • Work in an agile team while collaborating with different teams across product lines in developing specifications and delivering high quality solutions. 
  • Develop and optimize SQL and PL/SQL scripts, procedures, and functions. 
  • Support database design and implement solutions to improve data structure. 
  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases and related components. 
  • Build and manage data pipelines for reporting and ETL workflows. 
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues in Oracle environments. 

Why you are the person we’re looking for… 

You’ve demonstrated the ability to do the following, gained through education and/or experience: 

  • Strong understanding of relational database design and logical/physical data model. 
  • Practical use of SQL and PL/SQL for database operation, scripting and automation. 
  • Strong working knowledge of relational database platforms, especially Oracle 19c/23ai and ExaCC (including Good understanding of Cloud technologies, Azure and Oracle OCI experience is a big plus). 
  • Comfortable working in Unix/Linux environment, including working with scripting language. 
  • Proven ability to build and optimize data pipelines and workflows using technologies such as Talend, Azure Synapse, or Kafka.
